What are Cruncherz™ grain-free dog treats?
They’re a fantastic crunchy, grain-free & gluten-free treat made from organic ingredients including buckwheat flour, canola oil, ginger, chamomile, and many other great, healthy ingredients. We have 4 flavors: Ginger Yaps, Ocean Dreams, Pumpkin Patch and Peace Berry.
But, isn’t buckwheat a grain? I mean, it’s got the word “wheat” in there after all.
That’s the most common question about the biscuits. Buckwheat is actually a berry. In grains there are various parts of the kernel like the germ, endosperm and bran. Buckwheat contains only the endosperm. It’s actually related to rhubarb & sorrel, and not related to any cereal grains or grass. Our buckwheat is milled in a dedicated buckwheat mill making sure that cross-contamination is not an issue. Buckwheat adopted the “wheat” part of the name simply because of how it is grown, harvested and processed. Rest assured, there is no wheat or grains in Cruncherz!
Why do you have things like ginger and sage in your biscuits? Are those good for my dog?
Every ingredient in Cruncherz gluten & grain-free dog treats is there for a reason. Buckwheat is high in magnesium and has a complex array of amino acids. Ginger helps aid in digestion and inflammation in the joints. Chamomile and lavender help to provide a sense of calm, while sage is an herb that has been clinically proven to aid in cognitive function. Pumpkin is full of fiber & antioxidants, and the blueberries provide a bounty of anthocyanins, while honey plays host to an amazing amount of minerals. The cold-ocean kelp (from the North Atlantic Ocean) contains dozens of micro-nutrients that land-living beings need to thrive.
